I am an academic librarian at Syracuse University and a doctoral student in Information Studies at the University of Texas. I own a lot of orange clothing.

I joined the Syracuse University Library in January 2009, where I am the subject specialist for English & Textual Studies; Communications & Rhetorical Studies; and Linguistics. Prior to arriving in Syracuse, he served as Web and Instructional Design Librarian at the College of Staten Island / CUNY and Coordinator of CSI’s Center for Excellence in Learning Technology.

I am currently a doctoral candidate in Information Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. My dissertation research focuses on social interaction surrounding texts in online learning environments. I have also worked as a graphic designer, an information architect, a community technology consultant, and a dj. I completed my MSIS coursework in May 2004 and spent several semesters teaching and developing a semester-long information and technology literacy course at the University of Texas School of Information.

My research interests include computer-supported collaborative learning; interaction design; information and technology literacy; scholarly communication, contemporary literature; information visualization and generative art;  and public history.

I received my B.A. in English from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an M.S. in Information Studies from the School of Information at The University of Texas at Austin.

I obsessively photograph and I enjoy music to a fault.
